Five of the Biggest & Best Events at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles

The Hotel Median Paris Porte de Versailles is ideally located in the heart of the French Capital, giving you free reign to make your way around the city as you please. One of Paris' main attractions is the array of expos, conferences and events that take place throughout the year, and one of the biggest exhibition halls is the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Luckily for you, if you're staying at the Hotel Media Paris Porte des Versailles, you're a mere ten-minute walk from Paris Expo. Here are a few of the biggest and best events taking place there this year:

1. Paris Motor Show

Arguably the biggest exhibition in the whole of Paris, the biennial event is one of the main motor shows in the world, along with the likes of the North American International Motor Show in Detroit and the Geneva Motor Show. Visitors from around the world flock to the French capital to catch a glimpse of some of the biggest names in the car industry unveil brand new models. Past introductions at the show have included the Jaguar F-Type, the new Mini Cooper and the super high-end Aston Martin One-77 concept car.

This year's event takes place between the 2nd and 19th October, and the likes of Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini and BMW have already confirmed they will be exhibiting.

2. Videogame Story

Videogames are big business nowadays. Grand Theft Auto V has sold 31 million copies to date, and generated $800million in its first 24 hours of sale. The history of videogames dates back well over 40 years, and Videogame Story aims to bring some of the best and most important videogames of this period to today's players. With over 300 playable games on offer, this is a rare opportunity for videogame fanatics to try their hand at consoles and titles that may have otherwise been forgotten.

Videogame Story starts on the 30th June, and runs throughout the summer until it closes on the 7th of September.

3. Salon du Chocolat

Now in its 20th Year, and having spread to multiple locations across the globe, the Salon du Chocolat is an absolute must for chocolate lovers. While it's now a worldwide event, the Paris leg of the tour is the original, and considered by many to be the best. Many of the world's finest chocolatiers will be in attendance, including Guylian, Leonidas and Favarger. There's also chance to immerse yourself in the culture of chocolate, with talks on the history of chocolate, chocolate-inspired fashion shows and, of course, tasting sessions.

This year's Salon du Chocolate takes place on the 29th October to the 2nd November.

4. Mondial de Modélisme

Model aficionados from across the globe will travel to visit the Mondial de Modélisme, where exhibitors will be showcasing all the newest and best developments in the world of remote-controlled cars, cool gadgets, model trains and much more. Plus, there's plenty of opportunities to get hands on with many of the models and gadgets on display.

The Mondial de Modélisme takes place from the 19th to the 22nd of June.

5. Créations & Savior-Faire

Thinking about trying your hand at a bit of DIY, or taking up a new crafty hobby? Then the Créations & Savior-Faire is perfect for you. From patch working to engraving, and from scrapbooking to jewellery making, the show is packed with excellent workshops and demonstrations of different crafts you can do at home. There will also be plenty of opportunities to buy all the materials you need to get started with your new hobby.

The Créations & Savio-Faire is held between the 19th and the 23rd of November.
